I can't help but hear a Lonesome Dove reading of "poke your pate" which is appropriately inappropriate.
Yeah pate is maybe too hokey, but I liked the sound with “made” and “poke” was too good.
It works for me. Reading the poem with the voice of Gus is very satisfying.
I know you know this, but I really enjoy this series. :) I saw your longer America one and just hadn’t had the chance to fully read it yet.
